A cyclist in Woodland was taken by air ambulance to a Sacramento hospital Thursday morning after being struck by a minivan.

The man's injuries were described as life-threatening, Sgt. Brett Hancock with the Woodland Police Department, said.

The collision occurred about 7:30 a.m. in the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and First Street. The 36-year-old Woodland woman behind the wheel of the minivan was traveling eastbound on Lincoln while the man on the bike was headed southbound on First.
