SACRAMENTO - Kind of a bizarre incident on Highway 99 in Stockton Thursday morning.

The cargo trailer of a big rig hauling foodstuffs suddenly buckled in the middle. The truck stopped in the number 2 lane of southbound 99 near the S. Arch Road off-ramp, slowing traffic in the area.

The driver said he suspected the groceries had been incorrectly loaded with too much weight in the middle. No groceries spilled out.

The truck broke down just after 10 a.m.

The groceries have to be unloaded and the rig towed before the lane can be reopened. There was no estimated time for that.
